Current status and ideas of research on oil and gas accumulation mechanism

Abstract

The oil and gas accumulation process includes the generation, migration, accumulation, preservation and destruction of oil and gas. It is not only the core issue of petroleum geological theory, but also the key issue to effectively solve oil and gas exploration activities. Since the emergence of the petroleum industry, the study of oil and gas accumulation mechanism has always been a topic of great concern to petroleum geologists. Its research has roughly gone through three stages of development: the first stage (late 19th century to early 1950s) was the initial stage of the study of oil and gas accumulation mechanism, represented by the anticline theory or gravity theory of oil and gas reservoirs distributed along the anticline fold belt, and the continental phase oil formation theory was proposed; the second stage (late 19th century to early 1950s) was the initial stage of the study of oil and gas accumulation mechanism, represented by the anticline theory or gravity theory of oil and gas reservoirs distributed along the anticline fold belt, and the continental phase oil formation theory was proposed; the third stage (late 19th century to early 1950s) was the initial stage of the study of oil and gas accumulation mechanism, represented by the anticline theory or gravity theory of oil and gas reservoirs distributed along the anticline fold belt, and the continental phase oil formation theory was proposed; the fourth stage (late 19th century to early 1950s) was the initial stage of the study of oil and gas accumulation mechanism, represented by the anticline theory or gravity theory of oil and gas reservoirs distributed along the anticline fold belt, and the continental phase oil formation theory was proposed; the fifth ...
