Theory on the Stages of Oil and Gas Accumulation in Tarim Basin

Abstract

 Geological evolution determined the cycle of hydrocarbon generation, and the reservoir formation cycles reflect the history of petroleum migration and accumulation in the Tarim Basin. Based on geological background, the author suggested that giant oil and gas fields formed during the second reservoir formation cycle and not destroyed can be found in Keping covered structural region.
