Oil and gas reservoirs related to volcanic rocks in Huimin Sag, Dongying

Abstract

Dongying and Huimin Sags are fault depressions with high oil and gas abundance and developed volcanic rocks. Exploration results in recent years have shown that volcanic rocks, as source rocks, reservoirs and caprocks, can form many special oil and gas reservoirs related to them. This paper discusses the origin of this oil and gas reservoir based on geological and geochemical evidence. Studying the formation of this special oil and gas reservoir will undoubtedly broaden people's ideas for finding oil and gas, and expand the scope of oil and gas exploration, especially for oil and gas exploration in basins with developed volcanic rocks.
