Abstract

Tuha Oilfield is a new Jurassic oil field discovered in recent years, with proven geological reserves of more than 200 million tons and an annual production capacity of more than 2.6 million tons. This paper briefly describes the exploration process of Tuha Basin from the 1950s to the discovery of the billion-ton oil field in the 1980s. It is concluded that for oil and gas exploration in a new area and new formation, the principle of regional geological survey and geophysical work should be followed first, and geophysical exploration and comprehensive research should be combined. A cautious attitude should be taken towards the oil test of the first drilling well, and the "clues" in the logging display should be carefully studied. At the same time, special attention should be paid to the logging of unconventional oil layers. Re-understanding this history will be beneficial to our future exploration work.
