Application of 3D seismic imaging technology in rolling exploration and development in Niuxinzuo area

Abstract

Genesis and distribution of oil-bearing reservoir is important in petroleum exploration and development, which directly affects the arrangement of exploratory wells. In view of the problems in Niuxintuo area, such as irregular distribution of oil-bearing and traps highy concealed, 3D seismic horizon information was applied. Thus, a number of underwater channels in Sha-3 member of Cenozoic have been found. Afterwards, the commercical oil well was exactly penetrated in the channel, while the other dry holes were unexceptionably located out of the channels, indicating channels controlling hydrocarbon distribution. In addition, another evaluation well arranged along the channel also obtained commercial oil flow.
