Geological characteristics of small and medium-sized basins in Northwest China and their directions

Abstract

 
There are numerous small and medium-sized basins in Northwest my country, which are of different sizes, widely distributed, diverse in type and huge in overall area. This paper divides the basin groups, combines these basins with certain mutual relationships, and then analyzes the geological characteristics and conditions of basin formation, depression formation and even oil and gas formation of each basin group with different characteristics. It preliminarily evaluates the oil-bearing prospect and oil prospecting direction, and believes that a considerable number of basins are promising new areas for oil prospecting.
