Achievements and prospects of China's oil exploration

Abstract

The 40 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China have been the fastest period of development of oil and gas exploration in my country. A large number of large oil fields have been discovered in continental basins. In 1978, the output exceeded 100 million tons, and my country entered the ranks of major oil-producing countries in the world. In the early 1980s, offshore and onshore oil and gas exploration were successively opened to the outside world, which enabled China's exploration technology to quickly approach the international level. In terms of scientific and technological progress and the application of high and new technologies, China has reached the advanced level of the international 1980s, and established a petroleum geology theory with Chinese characteristics. In the 1990s, my country's oil industry deepened reforms, vigorously developed the exploration market, carried out risk exploration bidding, and improved management functions to meet the needs of the development of the exploration market. my country's oil and gas exploration has made great achievements, but there is still a big gap with the requirements of national economic development. In terms of development strategy, we must still adhere to the principle of "stabilizing the east, developing the west, and developing oil and gas simultaneously", and we must insist on relying on domestic resources and supplementing them with foreign resources to accelerate the development of the oil industry.
